From WFMU's Beware of the Blog, this is a tape recorded scanning of the radio stations in New York from the night of/the morning after John Lennon was shot & killed.
Not that I'm a frequent flier of the Beatles flag, but the morning after he was killed is probably the only morning from so long ago that I actually remember...my mom waking me up early with the news. Like people remembering where they were when they heard Kennedy had been shot.
