Sad news this morning - Kurt Vonnegut dies at 84. Read the BBC obit here. And since he was from Indianapolis, you can read the Indy Star obit here. It has a nice, neat, little list of all of his published books.
"One of the outstanding figures of modern US literature, Kurt Vonnegut, has died aged 84 in New York..."
I'm not much of a fiction reader, but Vonnegut was/is my favorite writer. Of course most of his material was based ultimately on non-fiction material, so maybe that helped. But so did his sensibility and humour.
"The author's writing was distinctive for its combination of the satirical and the fantastical, and leavened by a black humor that looked disdainfully upon humankind's capacity for destruction."
RIP.
