Hey, were you ever at the Mudd club? I remember it was a different vibe every time, sometimes more burlesque than punk.
The post punk era, after '79 was pretty cool, but you didn't hear as much of the edgy rock, it was more of that funky hybrid music that became released on 99 and ESG records.
Although that was the first place I heard play "Dancin' with Myself" Billy Idol, that was considered pop. I was surprised they played it there. I hated what he became later in the decade.
