I received the following comment from a member of the Byrne family regarding the passing of the Count Five's John Byrne. Please repost where applicable:
It is with the utmost regret the Byrne family announces John has passed. Many of you knew him for his music. Few knew him for the husband and father he was. We knew him simply as dad.
As is obvious from the profound response to his passing, John will be missed by many. We his family, are truly saddened by this loss. A legend for his music, John inspired thousands to “take up song”, many of whom are still prolific today. As well, he helped solidify an attitude: “I will be who I am!” To this he remained true, and for this we salute his life!
