Today's NY Times has an article on finding the right turntable. Encouraging stuff in these strange times. I always suggest the Technics 1200 myself. Built like a tank, and they'll last for a lifetime. Thats one pictured above.
Also, this week New York Mag has a decent list of all things "indie" in NYC, including record stores. They forgot one however. Just like EV Grieve, I endorse Etherea on Avenue A between 4th & 5th Streets.
