Via the tripwire:
After announcing last week that they would be playing this year’s Coachella music festival in April, industrial rockers, Throbbing Gristle have gone and surprised fans once more, booking their first ever New York City appearance.
The U.K. band will be performing at Brooklyn’s Masonic Temple on April 16th before heading out to Cali. After their Coachella performance on April 19th, the band has announced they will play two more dates in the U.S., in Chicago and San Fransisco. Throbbing Gristle has not toured the U.S. since 1981, where they briefly played West coast shows only.

Throbbing Gristle broke up, only to reunite in 2004 to record the album TG Now, and have recently released the 30th anniversary edition of The Second Annual Report on 12″ vinyl that includes a live demonstration at La Villette in Paris from June, 2008, and comes with a special extended CD version. The release will be their first since TG Now. The original edition of The Second Annual Report was first released in 1977.
