Tannersville! Man, I spent many a summer in Jewett Center just a few stops down 23A. Some members of my family still have homes in Hunter.
Hope I get a chance to get up there this summer.

Its great up here. I spend a lot of time in Woodstock when I'm not in the city.

You are a very fortunate man. Is Phoenicia still as nice as it used to be? I only made it to Woodstock a few times and don't remember much. I guess Tannersville, Hunter and Phoenicia are on the other side of the mountain. Amazing how you hit an entirely different world once you go a 100 miles north of the city.

I've only been coming up here for about 3 years now so I wouldn't know what to compare Phoenicia to, but I love it...it's still very small but there are definitely a couple of reasons to go up there. There's a good breakfast place, and also a store called the Mystery Spot which is owned by music photographer Laura Levine. Its sort of a kitschy thrift store, plus she has vinyl.
