Daily travels - Archive of Contemporary Music record sale

Just in case you were wondering what the sale at the Archive of Contemporary Music might be like, or what the prices are, or whatever...I thought I might share with you the few things I picked up last night at the members-only sale party which always takes place the Thursday evening before the traditional open-to-the-public Saturday. Here's what I bought, grouped by price. Nothing astoundingly rare, but some good, solid purchases. If I had more money I could have easily spent more:

- Buzzcocks - Love Bites (deluxe special edition, Mute/EMI 2010)
- Buzzcocks - A Different Kind of Tension (deluxe special edition, Mute/EMI 2010)
- Can - Anthology (Remastered Edition) (Mute 2007)

ALL VINYL - $5.00 each:
- Walter Steding - Dancing In Heaven (Animal Records 1982)
- X - Wild Gift (in shrinkwrap, original Slash Records pressing 1981)
- Al Green - The Belle Album (Hi/Cream Records 1977)
- Futura 2000 - The Escapades of Futura 2000 (featuring the Clash, Disc AZ International 1982)

- Siouxsie & the Banshees - Juju (with bonus single, PVC 1981)
- Blue Rondo a La Turk - Me and Mr. Sanchez 12" (Virgin 1981)
- John Lee Hooker - Plays & Sings the Blues (Chess/MCA 1986)

$4.00 each:
- Adam & the Antz - Dirk Wears White Sox (Do It Records 1979)
- Devo - Duty Now For the Future (with perforated sleeve, Warner Bros. 1979)
- X - Los Angeles (original Slash Records pressing 1980)

$3.00:
- Cat Stevens - Very Young and Early Songs (Deram/London 1972)

$2.00 each:
- Malcolm McLaren - Fans (Island 1984)
- Weather Prophets - Judges, Juries & Horsemen (sealed, Creation/Relativity 1988 approx)

The sale starts tomorrow morning at 11:00AM at 54 White Street between Broadway & Church, and is easily reached by just about any train that stops at, or near, Canal Street.
