Stupefied: The Preston Lauterbach Playlist

This week's edition of the Stupefied Playlist© is brought to us by Mr. Preston Lauterbach. Besides posessing one of the cooler names I've come across recently, Mr. Lauterbach has written one hell of a book on an oft-ignored subject in the pre-history of rock & roll: the chitlin' circuit. The book (available now in paperback) is entitled The Chitlin' Circuit and the Road To Rock & Roll, and its highly recommended by us here at Stupefaction central.

As a sort of primer and/or soundtrack to the book, check out this slammin' list Preston was kind enough to put together. It loosely traces the narrative of the story, and really is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to musical suggestions made by the text. A BIG thanks to Preston!
