in the NY Times this week for their debut US performance here in the US at this week's CMJ festival, Savages is a band to watch. With one single, and a new live EP under their belts, it looks as though they may have a deal with Rough Trade Records...which would be perfect.
Of all of the recent bands who are obviously influenced by the late 70's/early 80's post punk sounds, they get it right! Check out the A-side of their debut single, "Flying To Berlin":
