I've long admired Alan Vega, and Suicide, for his/their seeming complete lack of concern regarding the commercial success of their music. I mean, I'm sure they'd love to see their records sell in high numbers, but they weren't/aren't willing to sell their vision short to make it happen. That, and there just isn't anyone as stone cold cool. Vega is nothing short of heroic. Give these tracks a listen and maybe you'll understand. I never understood why they weren't more successful. They also get overlooked when books/compilations are made listing influential bands.
Suicide still sounds very current.
They sound like the future.
