Savages: A band to watch, and in NYC all week

Name checked in the NY Times this week for their debut US performance here in the US at this week's CMJ festival, Savages is a band to watch. With one single, and a new live EP under their belts, it looks as though they may have a deal with Rough Trade Records...which would be perfect.

Of all of the recent bands who are obviously influenced by the late 70's/early 80's post punk sounds, they get it right! Check out the A-side of their debut single, "Flying To Berlin":

Listen to the B-Side, "Husbands," here, and visit their official website here. For you New Yorkers, here's the band's itinerary for the week...they're very busy!

10/17: NYC @ Glasslands, 10pm
10/18: NYC @ House of vans, 9.15pm
10/19: NYC @ Brooklyn Vegan show @ Public Assembly, 2.30pm
10/19: NYC @ Mercury Lounge, midnight
10/20: NYC @ Pianos, 5.30pm

Here's a smoking performance from a recent Jools Holland...this is serious!
