Here's something to heat things up - an original mix by Fleamarket Funk's very own DJ Prestige...
For quite a while now I've wanted to put together a mix that featured a bunch of drum breaks, original samples, atmospheric OST's and snippets of a small portion of the vinyl that I have in my crates. What was stopping me really, was just doing it. I wanted to do a mix that celebrated the drum in Funk, Soul, Jazz & beyond. It had to be all vinyl, all original, and in 1 take. There are a lot of records on here that you may recognize. Original Samples from Idris Muhammad, Isaac Hayes, Black Ivory, JJ Johnson among others sit side by side to movie soundtracks, Saturday morning cartoons, college Jazz bands, TV themes, Latin vibes, Hard Bop, interesting cover songs and production from people like David Axelrod, Creed Taylor, and the like. I'm hoping this will be the first in a series of mixes like this, and that you all can appreciate something a little different from me here at Flea Market Funk. It was done all in one take live, so dig on the clicks, pops, and improvised flow. - DJ Prestige
