Who doesn't love a good boxset? Cherry Red to unleash Scared To Get Happy in June

For those with an Anglophilic bend to their tastes, who may have missed out on the 80's indie scene, or for those who want to relive those halcyon days, this box is for you. Cherry Red Records has pulled out all of the stops for this: Five discs of UK indie pop - pure heaven. Out in June, they've even organized a central London show (June 22) featuring ten of the acts included in the set - see flyer at the bottom of this post. I could go on, but I'll let the music speak for itself.

Hard to believe, but this is the first collection of this era of this scale - you'd have thought it was ripe for the picking. 134 tracks in total (with several previously unreleased) including releases from all of our favorite labels like Creation, Postcard, Zoo, el, Cherry Red (natch), Sarah, Kitchenware, etc, etc...Also included is a 54-page book with mucho sleeve-notes regarding each recording and band. Phew!

Order Scared To Get Happy here (US), direct from Cherry Red, or demand it at your favorite retailer!
