The No Wave fetishism continues

Besides the series of films currently running in Brooklyn, here is yet another multi-day event dedicated to the genre of No Wave. Taking place November 3-5 at the Issue Project Room in Brooklyn, its entitled Theoretical Music: No Wave, New Music, and the New York Art Scene, 1978-1983. Participants include film maker Beth B, Sonic Youth’s Kim Gordon, artist Dan Graham, artist/critic John Miller, painter/singer/musician Taro Suzuki, Fashion designer/guitarist Nina Canal, writer/archivist Byron Coley, founder of Love of Life Orchestra (LOLO) Peter Gordon, Sonic Youth’s Thurston Moore, and writer Neb Sublette. It will be topped off with a show by Ut - their first show in New York since 1991.

- 11/03 @ 8:00pm - Theoretical Music: Rome ‘78 – Film Screening and Conversation with Filmmaker and Artist, James Nares
- 11/04 @ 5:30pm - Theoretical Music: Two panel discussions focusing on the crossing of the New York art and music scenes
- 11/05 @ 8:00pm - Theoretical Music: UT + Talk Normal

Admission for each night is $10 or $8 for members. A three-night package for $25, a discount of $5, is also available. More info available here.
