If you're looking to kill some time over this holiday break, have a look at this gem - the Replacements live in Minneapolis in September 1981. Not just one song, but their entire set! Thanks to Slicing Up Eyeballs for the tip. Use the left/right arrows below to skim thru the set.
I haven't picked it up YET but I did skim a copy and it looks pretty interesting - lots of Mpls. music history in there...something I should know a bit more about I guess.
About the time you were replying to my comment here, I was at Barnes & Noble picking up my copy. I had a gift card for there from Xmas so I figured since it was fresh in mind I should pick up a copy. I also picked up "And Party Every Day - The Story of Casablanca Records" (recently released) and "American Gangster and other tales of New York" by Mark Jacobson (2007.)
Blasted through the 'Mats book on Thursday afternoon/evening and part of yesterday. It's a GREAT read - I think you're gonna enjoy it alot.
I am now - I got your email and signed up this AM - have not taken much time to check it out but I will tweak my page and add some books/profile information at some point later in the week or maybe next weekend.
Thanks for the recommendation - it looks pretty cool. (PS - I'm on there as Nycdreamin)

Cool - thanks for this - had not seen that before. Somehow the 7th Street Entry looks bigger on film - it's a closet really.
Have you seen this book that came out earlier this fall yet?

Happy New Year to you Mrs. Karate Boogaloo!
I've been to 7th St Entry and it is tiny. And I picked that book up just a few weeks ago...it's in my "to read" pile. You should definitely read it.

You'll have to tell me how the Casablanca book is. Are you on goodreads.com?
