Dr. John, Dan Auerbach & Brian Olive on Jimmy Fallon

Dr. John's amazing new album, Locked Down, was released this week. On Tuesday night he & the album band performed on the Jimmy Fallon show. Tonight begins their three night run at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.

Old Ride, new Dexys and Dr. John...

Hard to believe it's been 20 years since this classic album was released. Producer Alan Moulder was/is always a great choice - especially at this time - and Ride were arguably at their peak with this one. Just fantastic. If you don't believe me, turn your speakers up & listen to the opening track, "Leave Them All Behind":

Keep an eye out for some reissue stuff from the likes of Rhino...and read a review here.

In the meantime, check out this track, "Nowhere Is Home," from the upcoming fourth album from Dexys - Kevin Rowland's latest incarnation of the band. The new album, One Day I'm Going To Soar, is out June 4:

Lastly, jump on over to the Quietus, and check out an exclusive stream of a new Dr. John track, "Revolution." It will be on his new album, Locked Down, out April 2, and produced by the Black Keys' Dan Auerbach. It also happens to feature my pal, Brian Olive, on guitar. Yes!
