Movie of the Week: Deep Purple Live In Concert 1972-1973 Copenhagen & NewYork

I have a friend, old enough to remember, who insists that any contemporary band would shit their pants if they caught Deep Purple in the era this concert footage dates from. I can't say I agree, but I love to hear him say it.

Movie of the Week - Bilzen Jazz Festival 1969

Thanks to reader Mike F. of Chicago for sending this our way. Its an amazing film of the 1969 Bilzen Jazz Festival which features many acts that traditionally don't get a lot of play on the left side of the Atlantic including Brian Auger, and The Move. Check out the Humble Pie version of Dr. John's "Walk On Gilded Splinters" which is nice since I've been on such a Dr. John kick lately. The festival was held in Bilzen, Belgium, from the mid-sixties through the early eighties.

Appearances by, but not in this order:
SHOCKING BLUE
DEEP PURPLE
BONZO DOG DOO DAH BAND
TASTE
MOODY BLUES
SOFT MACHINE
MARSHA HUNT & WHITE TRASH
BRIAN AUGER & THE TRINITY
STEVE SHORTER & TILLY SET
HUMBLE PIE
LIFE
BLOSSOM TOES
THE MOVE
ROLAND AND THE BLUESWORKSHOP
