NY Public Library Record Sale at Lincoln Center in August

 
Similar to the recently announced record sale by the Detroit Public Library on August 3, the NYPL will be hosting its own vinyl sale August 8-10 at the The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, Lincoln Center, Donald and Mary Oenslager Gallery, First Floor. 22,000 recordings will be on offer. Muscle Shoals movie also screening Sunday

Looking into tickets for the previously mentioned Bayou Maharajah, my friend Russ also noticed that this incredible looking film on the legendary Muscle Shoals Studio is playing at Lincoln Center on Sunday as well. Its hard to believe I've heard nothing about this film yet, but the filmmakers have obviously done a stellar job. Watch the trailer and you'll see what I mean. Bayou Maharajah screening Sunday & Monday at Lincoln Center

As mentioned back in March, Bayou Maharajah is a very promising looking documentary on the best one-eyed, gay, junkie piano player to ever exist - James Booker. The film will be screened on Sunday & Monday at Lincoln Center. For more information, click here.

Ponderosa Stomp in NYC 2010

Speaking of Lincoln Center, the Ponderosa Stomp announced today their New York City show for this summer in partnership with the Lincoln Center Out of Doors series. This year's show centers around talent from Detroit and looks to be quite the day:
